yesterday chris and i escaped boston to portland, maine, which despite all its visiting yuppy families/retired couples resulted into an awesome day of relaxing by the atlantic on a little hill under a tree in a grassy park. no humidity. sunshine. no horn honking. i love leaving the city every once in a while.

almost a week till august. i feel like i haven't done too much. last summer was the summer of vinyards, salmon dinners, long saturdays amidst pretty dresses and clinking champagne flutes, tipsy wedneday night markets, random explorations of sebastopol.

i feel like i've spent this summer hiding from the humidty in classrooms, the makeup store and the prefered air conditioned room of mi novio. and then random escapes into the new england suburbs.. like this past saturday. the best parts of the summer. outside, or at least in a car, windows rolled down, speakers rattling.
